The most important editorial project of Barcino is the Els Nostres Clàssics collection of critical editions of Catalan language texts from the origins -the Homilies of Organyà, dating from the early 13th century.

The Scientific Committee of the collection is composed by Lola Badia, Germà Colón, Tomàs Martínez, Josep Massot, Josep Pujol, Amadeu J. Soberanas and Albert Soler. The collection Els Nostres Clàssics received the prestigious Saint George Cross from the Catalan Autonomous Government in 1997.

As in all critical editions of Romance texts, the transcription is complete and all known manuscripts and old editions are taken into consideration.

The annotations contain the variants of the different manuscripts and an explanation of the passages that are difficult to understand as well as the literary, linguistic or historical commentaries that are relevant in each case. A glossary at the end of each volume includes the accepted words and archaic forms included in the text as well those which have never been catalogued in dictionaries.

A comprehensive introduction looks at the personality of the author, the general aspects of the work and its relevant points.

The Els Nostres Clàssics collection has received universal acclaim for the care and scientific rigour that goes into the preparation of the editions.

The Lluís Carulla Foundation has established agreements with philologists and investigators from Catalonia and from around the world, and it awards them scholarships to undertake the meticulous transcription work and research that are necessary during the preparation of the editions which are then published by the publisher in accordance with the consolidated criteria accumulated from more than seventy five years’ experience.
