The Nadala is a monographic publication in the form of a free miscellany containing biographical themes and historical commemorations relating to Catalan culture. The book is the Christmas greeting that the Lluís Carulla Foundation sends to the people who help fund the Baldiri Reixac Awards which are given as a stimulation and recognition of the work carried out in Catalan schools.
Prominent Catalan historians and literary figures collaborate on the project and the Nadalas have become a tool of work and reference in schools and institutes around the country.

Érem sis milions. Durant prop de dues dècades, la contínua validesa d’aquella dita publicitària de la Generalitat de Catalunya, «Som sis milions», ens va instal•lar en l’espai de certesa que ens donen les xifres constants, immutables. Aquest coneixement empíric ja era patrimoni de la persona del carrer quan l’any 1999 la població mundial va assolir els 6.000 milions d’éssers humans. No calia llavors ser un gran expert per esbrinar que els catalans i les catalanes érem exactament un de cada mil dels habitants del món. Encara que, es comentava, això no havia de durar gaire, perquè la població del món havia de seguir creixent, i la de Catalunya estava estancada i tenia unes perspectives no gaire dinàmiques.
