The Nadala is a monographic publication in the form of a free miscellany containing biographical themes and historical commemorations relating to Catalan culture. The book is the Christmas greeting that the Lluís Carulla Foundation sends to the people who help fund the Baldiri Reixac Awards which are given as a stimulation and recognition of the work carried out in Catalan schools.
Prominent Catalan historians and literary figures collaborate on the project and the Nadalas have become a tool of work and reference in schools and institutes around the country.

Joan Brossa (Barcelona, 1919-1998), poeta i dramaturg; Joan Ponç (Barcelona, 1927 - Sant Pau de Vença, 1984), pintor d’un imaginari d’introspecció; Antoni Tàpies (Barcelona, 1923), pintor matèric i innovador formal; Modest Cuixart (Barcelona, 1925 - Palafrugell, 2007), pintor de caràcter inquiet i experimentador atret per la dimensió màgica i misteriosa de la realitat; Joan Josep Tharrats (Girona, 1918 - Barcelona, 2001), responsable de muntatges tipogràfics i pintor de maculatures; i Arnau Puig (Barcelona, 1926), filòsof i reflexionador de l’existència i qüestionador dels fets de sensibilitat, formaven un col•lectiu de joves als quals unia la disconformitat amb la situació ideològica i les possibilitats creatives que, entre el desembre del 1946, amb l’inici de la publicació Algol, i el setembre del 1948, data de l’aparició del primer número de la revista Dau al Set, van suposar la represa de l’avantguarda catalana.
